I found this old copy of Frontline magazine , the magazine for physiotherapists, from April 2000 with me on the front in probably not very practical white joggers 😬.

I’d been teaching Pilates for 2 years and was delighted to highlight Physiotherapists using Pilates in their practice.

For me, Pilates was all encompassing. 
I had been working as a neuro physio and as much as I loved it, it was having a negative effect on my neck.
I wasn’t physically capable of managing the pain, working in a physical job and bringing up 3 children. The treatment I was receiving wasn’t having a lasting effect.

I read an article about Pilates in the paper in 1997  (as we did then) and it piqued my interest. 
I started doing Pilates to help my neck issues and it blew me away. 

I knew I wanted to teach this wonderful method and bring all I had learnt as a physiotherapist into how I teach.

Approaching my own pain and movement limitations by being aware, sitting with it, creating space to allow change without judgement , breathing, positioning and a joy in movement, was powerful and lasting.

I still feel like that every time I get on my mat, every time I teach and celebrate joy and every time someone tells me I’ve helped them feel it too.

These days, you’ll find me online helping people with my supportive and personal Pilates online membership. It is built around and for my members. I take time to listen and understand their issues and together we journey into finding the movement joy.
